This reminds me of a really neat arc in a comic called "Atomic robo", namely Issue 3 of the "ring of fire" arc.

The over all amount of Kaiju fighting is minimal, but alot of the reports section talking about the aftermath and status of the mecha and the kaiju are eally cool. there are afew panels of destroyed kaiju and mechs, some of the mechs being salvaged and wrecked mechs being restored/refitted.

its all really fuckin neat.
